Our property is an old Rag Stone cottage in Kent. We finally got permission for a large extension that combined traditional stonework with large expanses of glazing, adding a new kitchen, utility room, two new bedrooms, a dressing room and a bathroom. We really could not be happier with the result that Lubo and his team provided. They arrived on time every day, and trust me they work hard...8am till mid afternoon with a quick lunch break. We had previously had rag stone done by a local 'expert' builder, and the difference in the quality provided by IDL is so much better. Lubo has many experts on hand so he ended up handling everything from electrics, plumbing, drainage and even laying a new patio that lines up perfectly with matching interior tiles in the kitchen. Even when things inevitably go wrong with a build like this, I have to say that IDL were very professional regarding extra costs that were kept to a minimum, Lubo was very transparent with costs and we only got charged if they were changes that we made (of which there were many, which must have driven him mad, but he took it all in his stride). Lubo was also excellent when dealing with our external suppliers that provided glass, porcelain tiles, bathrooms, kitchens etc. We had Lubo and his team on our property every day for almost 6 months - it was a big project! I'll start with the punchline - I couldn't Lubo and the wider team at IDL Contractors any more (or more often) if I tried. Without question, they made our 10 week kitchen/dining room/utility room/downstairs w.c renovation incredibly smooth and pain-free. Lubo was the middle of three quotes, but we had a great connection straight away (and this continued all the way through the job - and was replicated with all members of his team). He provided a clear timeline with milestones at the end of each fortnight and these were all met. We hired Lubo and his team to carry out extensive works at our dilapidated Victorian terrace. This included a full rewire, new bathroom, new hot water system, new radiator installation and some carpentry. Lubo was incredibly professional and respectful from the first meeting. From the 1st time we met with Lubo, when he came to estimate the project, to today we have had a great relationship with him. He's very clear on what he will deliver and is very happy to facilitate any requests where he can. The team that works with him is also very nice and fun to be around as they work. We had our bathroom completely redone, including move the toilet, bath, shower and sink in completely different locations. IIDL fitted my kitchen in January 2019 and did an excellent job. In addition to fitting the kitchen, they installed a new electrical circuit and all walls and ceiling were skimmed. Before the work started, I was given a very detailed quote, breaking down the cost of each part of the work, and I was given a timeframe for the length of the job. As much as the quality of the work (which was excellent), I appreciated being kept informed on a daily basis of what work was planned for the day, and who would be doing the work. Most days I had a daily site visit from the Lubo; on days when there was no visit I had a phone call to check that I was happy with the work so far. I appreciated the 'can do' attitude of all the workmen, and their willingness to stay until the job for the day was complete, to enable the next day's work to keep to schedule. We have used IDL Contractors on a house conversion into 3 flats. We have had no experience with such project in the past and it was a big challenge for us. We have to say that we have made the right choice selecting IDL as main contractor for this project. I have used Lubo on a ‘large project’. It was a conversion of a 4 bedroom house into 3 flats. This involved major demolition works, temporary propping, a two storey and a single storey extension, major internal reconfiguration works and internal fit out. Therefore kitchens, bathrooms, floors, replastering, decorating, sound and fireproofing. There was also some hard landscaping external works including a major retaining wall and railings. Lubo was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. I always looked forward to seeing him. He is enthusiastic and hard working as were his employees. He was approachable and helpful at every opportunity. We had a couple of buildability issues and he gave the problems a lot of thought and he came up with some very good solutions. He has a very good standard of workmanship. Notably his floor and wall tiling was very good. Before his work was actually finished I pointed out a few minor imperfections. I bought an old three bed Victorian terraced house that needed a complete renovation. Due to the scale and cost of the project I am having to do it in stages. Lubo is one of the most courteous, considerate and inspirational (and humorous) builders that I have had the pleasure of working with. Lubo and his team installed an entire new kitchen to my specifications as well as a new bathroom and wooden floors throughout. I also had a new heating system installed and a complete house rewire. However, I made the rather fatal mistake of sourcing local contractors (Kent) for some aspects of the project – this was a disaster and has ended up costing me a lot more money than if I had Lubo and IDL Contractors project manage and deliver the whole of phase one. There were so many things that due to other people’s incompetence left me unhappy or tearing my hair out. Lubo always managed to pull something out of the bag and found a solution to all of these little issues. Nothing was too much trouble for him or his team. Lubo kept me fully appraised of costs with detailed breakdowns throughout the project and always knew when to consult with me on something, or whether to just do something, knowing that I would be delighted with the outcome. This is categorically one of Lubo’s biggest strengths along with his attention to detail to the point of having an entire water pipe moved and relocated so that my washing machine fitted exactly as I wanted it. I can’t praise Lubo highly enough and recommend him and IDL Contractors 100%. As money permits IDL will be back to finish the renovations.
